getting rid of the ranger "bounce"

According to my Ford dealer they used different leaf springs on the rear. Same fitment, but a harder steel in some depending on the code on the door. I have a 95 Ranger Splash and it would literally throw you into the roof when you hit a bump. As recommended I went to the salvage yard and got a different set of leaf springs from another ranger with a different code on the door. Well I'll be damned, it rides like a dream now.

dream ride code?

so I'm curious, what is the code on the door sticker to look for? a dream ride would do me good on the nasty roads around PHX

Ya!!!! Give it up Spunge pants!!! lol

I found my sport model is sprung pretty stiff.
It likes to wander around a bit on washboard roads, but adding 2-300lbs in the bed improves the ride alot.

Look to the leafs for bumpy rides, I can't wait to get my exploder leafs on the back of mine, the F 150 coil springs have actually improved my ride in the front I guess cause the old springs were just so worn out. I'm thinking about getting that air ride suspension for mine.

Air-adjustable shocks on all 4 wheels...adjust the ride for yourself (from Lincoln soft to 1,000 lb. loads ) with a shot of air in each shock with the under-dash air line fill valves

i am not to sure if the is true or not but this is what someone told me to do. they told me get leveling shackles and it fixes it. is this true or not.

Worked for me the ride is 10x better, (Just confirming what you said)

The problem is the ranger rides at the top of the suspension when there is no load in the bed, you lower the truck in the rear so now your in the middle of the normal travel and thus when you go over bumps and such it doesn't top out on the shocks. That's what my ranger was doing and ford made it that way on purpose for people who use it well.... like a truck.

Troy.

I agree with doorgunner and 87xlranger; airshocks, but remove a leaf or two.
