Im trying to get rid of the stacked blocks about 6" i have on the back of my 86 ranger. The explorer swap looks the easiest but it dosent give enough lift.
What is the easiest and cheapest way to get more lift out of them?

I also have a set of springs from a 79 bronco that lifted it about 4",and the mounts that hold them to the frame.
Would it be easier to put these on and move the spring perches on the axle?

Thanks

Blocks are popular because they are so cheap. If you find a set of springs that will lift the truck maybe like 4", throw the factory blocks back in for a lift of about 6".

I may be wrong about this, but I believe the fullsize springs are longer. And wider too possibly. Although 4" on a fullsize may end up being more on a Ranger.

I'd try building your own leaf packs...maybe some Ex leaves, some stock ones, and an add-a-leaf. To go cheap you may have to experiment a little.

the full size springs i have are about the same length. 3" wide but i have the brackets for them.

i would like to get rid of all the block i can. when i take off in the truck i can feel the springs twist. Just waiting for them to break

it sounds like you are having similar issues to what i am having right now. your best bet is a longer shackle, stock block and an add-a-leaf. the explorer springs, an add-a-leaf and a super long shackle MITE make up for most of the 2 blocks. if you are looking to get rid of both blocks and maintain 6 inches of lift i hope your ready for a spring pack thats like riding on bricks unless you want to cough up the 400-600 dollars for springs.

Im trying to avoid the price of new springs. is there any other springs that will give it a bigger lift than explorer springs?

Yep, and they are currently being discussed one thread above or below this one. 88-98 Chevy C/K-1500 springs.

I have 5.5-6" of lift from this combo:
Belltech 6400's (~ 1")
exploder leafs (~ 1.75")
add-a-leafs (~ 1.5")
2" block
All on stock mounts.

If you have time/place to do the work, then I would say go for the chevy leafs.

edit: I do not feel any axle wrap when driving, and when I had my friend do a brake stand with me outside watching I could not see any at all.
