I'm taking my 98 3.0l ranger to the exhaust shop a week from today. I don't know if I want to cut the exhaust right behind the cats and run a y pipe and dual exhaust out the back or get a cheap muffler put on it. Either way I want duals out the back

It would just be wise to get a Flowmaster SI/DO 40 series. If you have junk yards in your area go there and check to see what they have. You can get those for cheap, I can for 25 each at my junkyard. All you pay is labor for install and piping. That is the best way to run duals on a 3L.

Everyone says the flowmaster sounds the best, but isn't that going to be really quiet?

called the exhuast shop i'm taking it to this morning and they don't have any flowmasters in stock. A 40 series is $100 to order and he said that straights isnt going to sound good. But he seems to think a turbo muffler would sound best with duals ran out the back? Any opinions?

ordered a thrush welded yesterday morning. got an SI/DO 2 1/4 Gonna have duals ran out the back from the muffler

I strongly reccomend only 2" tailpipes, especially on duals. A 3L needs it. A single in dual out muffler is a great idea. If you want the look of bigger pipe, use tips.

I have no idea, so I'm just going with what people say on here.......anyone else agree with running 2" pipe rather than 2 1/4"?

getting it done at 8 o clock tommorow morning so if I don't hear anything different by then i'm gonna get the 2" pipes

went with 2" it looks alright but I had them ran stright out the back, and my rear bumper was hit by another truck and is bashed in so that doesn't do anything for the looks, but ill get a pic soon
