@RickW was pretty regularly posting about the Cars and Coffee (IIRC) up where he's at. This past week or two I found out about a couple of fairly large car shows upcoming in the state and thought I'd share. Pretty interesting because I didn't know we had any big shows like this. and one of them is happening the next town over.
For May I know about:
NOPI Nationals Super Show at South Georgia Motorsports
It's this weekend, May 16-17 in Adel GA. I did not know that there was a NOPI show in the state, but apparently it's a recurring thing. It's about a 2 hour drive south from me, getting close to Florida. Apparently a big car show, with drag racing and drifting events. Never been to something this big, so seriously thinking about spending the day down there Saturday if something doesn't come up.
Import Expo Atlanta
Also this weekend, in Atlanta. It's apparently another big event with shows across the country. I have no desire to spend the dayt in ATL and I think the crowd at NOPI would be more my style.
There's several smaller shows scattered around GA this weekend as well, including some closer to me, but nothing that is as big and will draw the participation like those two. Given the choice of one of the major shows or a local, I'm going major. I can see the locals at any given car show during the year, these big events are going to have things I won't get to see at those.
For June I only know about one for now:
Goodguys Rod & Custom 26th Southeastern Nationals
This one is June 12-13 in Perry, GA. Actually located at the Georgia National Fairgrounds which is in the next town over from me. Will definitely be stopping by this one. Apparently it's a big car show, a vintage dragster exhibition, and swap meet. Apparently they are also doing a part for local crafters and vendors, because my sister is apparently going to have a booth setup at it. She doesn't do much car related, but is big into the crafter show stuff.
Will add more if I come across them. If you happen to be in the area or heading to one, please let me know so I can keep an eye out.
