so i have a 1990 bII, ive always like the front end on the older ones, and was wondering if i could retro fit mine? im thinkin id just need the front panels, grill and light fixtures. im guessing its all basic cosmetic work i could snag from the junkyard. any input on this? or would it be a waste of time?

my real questions are:
1. as much as i like the look... is it really worth it for $____ estimated?
2. would i be setting myself back if i wanted to upgrade my headlights? ( mine blow anyways)

another thing is, i plan on puttin the duff front bumper on, i think the gen 1 looks better and is cheaper. so to me i could get an overall more appealing front end ( in my eyes ) for cheaper...... GO!

It works and is worth it. It's not just cosmetic work though.

You need the core support and header panel in addition to the parts you listed. The core support is a bit more involved to get out but has to be changed as the Gen 2 is wider because the front doesn't cone in.

too bad you aren't closer, i have dang near everything you need sitting in my backyard. heck, i could convert 3-4 with the parts i have

core support is not that bad of a swap, just have to get it lined up right.

i would avoid the 84-85 core support, since the radiator mounts a lot differently. find a later one from a 2.9 rig

oh yeah, similar year rangers will have the same parts

sweet, thanks guys. i finallly got her runnin right, so now im workin on the suspension. luckily ive picked up alot more side work then i thought, so should have all the stuff to upgrade my suspension here in about a month. then its time to focus on the front end.

i bought her a year ago for $480, busted flywheel, couple oil leaks and a slight miss. put some new plugs and wires in her and shes runnin great. i went through 3 flywheels and starters before i found the root of the problem. i needed a 10 tooth bendex, all the starters i guess have 9 tooth so it was tearin up my shit. just put a new transfer case control module and shift motor in. interiors flawless ( uber red) outside paint needs some love. but i love my bronco 2. i had a 05 grand cherokee before my b2, dont get me wrong i loved that damn truck, but somethin about this little ford truck strikes a cord in me haha. but yeah ill post some pictures here soon, im thinkin OD for paint. probrobly flat, maybe semi gloss.

for some reason, im thinking its fuel related, either a leaking fuel injector, fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump, i gotta crank it twice to start it. i mean i can litterally crank it for half a second, then on the second time it fires right up. then again i can crank it up for 4-5 seconds, and its still always the 2nd try. any ideas?

also:

have you guys seen hydrographic coating? i got some buddies here in SE VA who do it (source hydrographics) but they can chemically bond all these different designs to things ( car parts, gun parts, golf clubs, ect...) im thinking abouty getting my bumpers, roof racks and wheels dipped in tiger stripe camo, i think itd be a cool touch to my OD green plan. but yeah check out there website theyve got some cool stuff sourcehydro.com. theyve got rifle stock thats kindove like a mossy oak deal, but its got skulls kindove like smoke in the backround
