I looked and I guess noboy else may of had the same brake light bulbs problem that I had; so I decide to share it anyways. I had a problem of after going off roading on some really ruff stuff, that the bulbs would wiggle them selves loose refering to the round style 1157 bulbs. I found that the socket holders from F150s and the later model rangers that ran the 3157 bulb could be spliced right into the harness and fit in the gen 1/2 rangers and b2s taillight housings. The wires are a different color code than the gen 1/2 (or at least the f150s, that would I took mine from in the junk yard) but they are very simple to figure out how they go. I will take pics of the way mine wired in and how they were color coded too.

Why splice?

You can fairly easily remove the entire taillight harness from the bed and swap it in as a unit.

It disconnects at the end of the driverside frame rail.

But you should really get the connector shell off of the donor vehicle's frame harness

Ford changed the "keying" of the connector several times
and it's convenient if they match.

Then when you get home from the junkyard swap the "new" connector body onto your frame harness.

ya it could be done that way too, this is just the way i did it

My main point being if you are going to suggest that people do it as an upgrade
why just swap the lamp sockets?

I like keeping things simple, but "elegant" is usually worth the effort.
