I am buildin a ranger for trail riding...nothing real hardcore...just a something i can beat on and not have 2 worry about it getting me 2 work. I have a 4.10 geares 31 spline 8.8...they r very common around here and cheaper 2 find the axle with the corrct gearing than 2 regear...i have a lightened up std cab long box...the front is 3.73 gearing...4.0 v6 and auto trans will i be okay 2 stay with 3.73 gearing for a 32 or 33" tire? i have 3.27 and 34"s on rngr that i bought and its a dog...it wont even spin the tires free

You'll want at least 4.10's, 3.73's are too doggy for 33's...

Yeah 4.10's for sure. I'm surprised you made it this far with what? 34's and 3.27's? crazy!

No crap! My buddy has like a '95 that's solid axled on 35's and still running 3.27's...he said my 4.88's and 35's hauled total and complete ass when I gave him a ride. haha. Can't believe he wheels it like that too! WAY too high geared for me.

Anyway...are you planning on 4.10 rear, 3.73 front? If so, have fun driving backwards for 500 feet to unbind the transfer case...

i have 3.27s and 31s it sucks i couldnt imagine 35s

of course im not gonna have two different ratios...thats just retarded...I'm just curious if I'd be happy with the 3.73's or 4.10s. The only reason I am wondering is because 4.10's are going to cost me more than just getting the 31 spline 8.8 3.73 gears to match the front right now because thats what came stock, 8.8's are pretty cheap as long as you stay away from the boneyards around here, most of the time I have found them for 100 or so, but I have a 31 spline 4.10 right now so I will have to regear the front.

Definitely go with the 4.10s
