I have a 1999 Ranger with a 3.0L V6 Automatic. I was wondering what the best gear ratio would be to turn 35x10.5 r16 tires? I dont know alot or anything about rear end gears for that matter. So any help would be greatly apreteated. Also, I would like to be able to go around 100 still as there are alot of roads where that is the speed limit. let me know thanks

Most people run 4.56 or 4.88 with 35s.

im hoping he means KMH

i'm sure he meant kmh. he said there alot of roads here where that is the speed limit. i don't think i've ever seen a road that is 100 mph limit.

Also, swapping gears is a big job that requires alot of specialty tools that most people don't have such as a press, dial indicator, micrometer, ect. if you were planning on doing it yourself and don't have much experience with axles, you are in for learning experience.

That's not enough gear for his setup.

3.0L + 35" tires + automatic (tall 0.75 OD) = 5.13 gears without a doubt.
