I wouldn't say most. Only the M5OD uses ATF, the FM145-146 and TKs use gear oil.

"Most" refers to quantity of trucks produced not the models of transmission

ALL the manual transmissions OTHER THAN the Mazda built M5OD-R1
have been discontinued for 17years. and for the last 21 years the
"other" two models were only available on 2.9 powered trucks.

so just how many NON-Mazda Manual transmissions do you think are lurking around out there?

"Most" applied to the Mazda is precisely on-point.

I'm still amazed what people put in their fluids. Anyone remember those pictures posted a year or two ago when someone put "Stop-Leak" in their Ricer? Not a pretty picture, same thing with the wrong fluids, eats the seals and "O"-rings.
