im not saying that winding a motor out isn't bad, but if he was happy with 3.73 and 31's. 4.10 and 33's should be fine for what hes doing. heck, the only reason my truck has 3.73 is because i couldn't find 4.10 at the time and didn't have the money. after driving it i love that gear. i would be more worried about blowing out the front axle rather than the gears in it.
