ok well i have my 94 b3000 3L and i have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and yesturday my gauge was goin up to 55psi when i first started driving then it would drop slow down to like 22psi then back up to 50 then down to like 15 all in a period of about 20 min??? and today it started up at 50 and then slowy droped to less then 10 by the time i got home? i relly dont kno what to do anymore also i had a leak from the oil press sensor and i fixed that stoped leaking for about a week them started leaking from somewhere else bad but i dont kno what i should do about the less the 10 psi for oil pressure?

Replace the oil pressure hose from the fitting on the block to the back of the gauge. Make sure you don't get any kinks or crud in the line when you do it. These replacement kits are pretty cheap and contain the line and fittings.

if this dos'nt solve your problem , take the engine oil pressure with another gauge

It sounds to me like the reason for the low reading was because of the leaking line. Only way to be sure though is to check the entire line and go from there.

You DO NOT want to run any engine with no/low oil pressure.

An engine oil pressure will fluctuate on aftermarket gauges, because it shows actual pressure that an engine see's from stop to go, to cruise to stop again. I'd find a steel braided line, if you want a more permanent solution. Those clear plastic lines tend to crack, kink, or find a sharp spot on the firewall to rub on.

ok ya im checking EVERYTHING tomorrow ya i kno i dont want to run it wit low or no press but i had to get home and it like 2 min away but ya im checkin alot tomorrow

If it were actually that low, I'd think it'd start knocking or something. I would say it's just the gauges line.

ya my dad told me that if the engine realy had no press the engine would have no get up an go but my truck still has alot of get up and go like before the gauge prob so im like 80% sure its something with the guage.

ok so ya bad new i went and checked the line and it seemed fine and so i was working outside my garage and it started raining so i pulled my truck in to the garage and i had it runnin for about 1 min or 2 to check if i would get oil pressure but no so i shut the engine off steped out side looked underneath and a puddle of oil was underneathe engine i scramble to get a tray and get under neath and i mush of lost about a small jug of oil and then it just stoped???? i dont kno if all the oil came out of the engine or not but ya so after a couple fowl words and some throwing of tools i took the line back off and ya the oil line plastic crap tube thingy was broke in half, when i opened the hood there was oil everywhere so what i want to kno is if that line broke off would it spray oil everywhere?

If you pull out the dipstick you will know quickly how much you have left. When I put my mechanical gauge in I didn't quite get the fitting on the back of the gauge tight. Trust me, it will leak pretty good.

ok thanks ya i was just talking to my dad about it and he told me that it would spit out oil pretty dam good cuz the engine is under pressure so it will spit it out.

It will spit oil out of that 1/8" tube at around 55 psi while it's running. It will continue until the pressure drops after shutdown as well.

Did you not check the entire length of the tube?

i never knew they made electronic gauges but ya road kill i check the whole line and i never felt or seen any kinks or splits but after i took the old line out i seen that right inside the fitting that goes onto the engine the line was split in half and was just held on by a feather, and i guess when i pulled my truck into my garage the line got to the braking point and blew oil everywhere

but ya i was up until 2 in the morning putting the new copper oil pressure line on y truck so i could get to work today. i lucked out i went to every place around my house that was open at 8 pm and no one new what the heck i was talking about i even brought the old line with me to show them and they didnt understand that i neeed a new line, they kept bringin me clamps so finally i went to part source and the guy knew exactly waht i neeed and i got the copper line cuz it will be better i just had to watch not to kink it cuz i kno exactly how copper will kink super easy.

as far as i kno the leak stoped so im happy about that. also i check my dip stck after i finished all that and my oil level was still at 3/4 full and before this happened it was at 3/4 full so i dontk no how my dip stick never moved but i got a jug of oil just incase.
