alright so i have a 1994 ranger and i want to change the color of the gauges, i already scraped a set of the backing off and i want to get leds but i want the numbers and everything to be bright green and i want the needles to be white, how many of each color bulb will i need from superbrighleds.com or anywhere else you guys recommend, the cheaper the better lol

im not 100% sure, but i dont think u can do that just on lights alone. i think you can get special gauge faces & just use white LEDs though

To do that, you're gonna have to paint the faces and needles.

You might be able to do the faces on your computer...remove the gauge faces, scan 'em in, change the colors in photoshop (change the white to bright green), then print em out on a good photo printer and cut them out. Buy some spray adhesive to attach the new printed faces on top of the old gauge faces.

The needles are easy, once you get them off. Use some masking tape to protect the black parts, then spray the needles themselves with flat bright white from a rattle can.

Once you have that done and reassembled, you can use bright white LED's, one for each bulb you're replacing. You need properly sized resistors, too...one for each LED.

oops, my mistake...if you get wedge-base LED bulb replacements, they have the correct resistor built in already.

well the gauges should have glowed green to start with so scraping them was a mistake. you can use glass paint to repaint the gauges or get new ones. If your needles aren't white you can get some white needles out of a newer ranger. To make everything brighter use white leds from superbrightleds.com and it will improve the look. BTW, Individual bulbs don't control the color of the needles vs the gauges. The bulbs just light up the area in general and the gauges and needles capture the same light and the makeup of the gauge and needle materials turn that light into the proper color.
