Gauge Cluster Question

I have a 95 Ranger SuperCab XLT that I am trying to get ideas on to fix up.

I was walking the bone yard today and found a gauge cluster from a mid to late 90's Explorer that had a Tach. My gauge cluster does not have a Tach and this is one thing I would like to change.

This brings up two questions.

1. If I just change the clusters will the tach work or will I need to do some other wiring?

2. How to I change the Odomiter? My truck has more miles on it then the new cluster is showing and I would just like to have them mach. I am kinda proud of the miles on the truck :)

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I am more of a computer guy that is amazed by people that can work on vehicles and I like to learn what I can.

i know on some of the older chevs the wiring is right there staring you in the face when you pull the cluster out. but idk if its the same for rangers. check the tech tibrary

If the engines are the same and the years are close enough (I don't think a 96+ will work right in yours) you should just be able to plug it in and have it work.

As for your odometer, the easiest way to do it is to get a drill and a small square drive bit, put it in place of the speedo cable and run it forward until the numbers are where you want them.
