OK, so I've read here that you can basically swap a gauge cluster from an Exploder into a Ranger and gain a tach if you didn't have one before. The main reason I'm thinking of swapping is that the odometer has crapped out and I have to pull the gauges anyway to fix that.
I've got a '97 Ranger, 2.3, 5-speed manual.
So now a couple of additional questions now come up:
Do the other gauges work the same (I'm specifically thinking the oil pressure and idiot lights)?
Is the oil pressure gauge just a fake that shows midscale as long as the pressure's above the minimum?
Do you have to find a cluster that came from a manual trans truck?
Thanks, all
