I’m trying to track down why I only have air coming out of defrost. I unbolted my vacuum reservoir and disconnected a line. Gasoline started coming out. It feels about an 1/8 full. Anybody know why it would be in there? This is on a 2001 4.0

If the fuel pressure regulator is vacuum actuated then the pressure regulator is bad. this is the only way I can see gas getting into the vacuum system.

Should the check valve be attached? When I shake the reservoir you can feel it moving around

Sorry I don't have an answer to that. Maybe someone else will know that.

Just grabbed a new reservoir. Check valve was broke off on the old one. Doing some more reading, seems like the fuel pulse dampener is responsible for it being full of gas

PCV elbow ended up having a huge tear in it. Ordered a silicone replacement off of Amazon. Pickup still only has defrost after the replacement vacuum reservoir

The system is vacuum activated and it is some times possible that the hard vacuum lines behind the dash crack. I'm thinking either the line/s have cracked/bad connection at the switch or heater box or switch may be faulty.

I see under dash work in your near future... lol
