gas tank ???

ok my dad had a 2004 chevy silverado and last week something messed up on it when you try to put gas in it all it will let you put in it at a time is about 10 to 20 cents at a time before it stops the pump it dont matter if you go as slow as the pump will go it still dose it i just wanted to know if some one might know what is wrong with it

Our 89 F-350 has been like that since brand new. The dump body manufacturer put a "low profile" dump body on it and it flattened out the filler neck. Some gas stations there is no way to get gas to go in it. Others you have to twist the nozzle around sideways and pump really slow. Real pain since it holds 40 gallons.

On another note, my choptop used to be tough to fill like that sometimes and after I put on the 2" body lift, it's much easier to fill.

It should have an inner and outer hose. More than likely the inner hose has either collapsed, kinked, or has something blocking it. I cleaned out my tank and found an acorn in the bottom, so anythings possible.

Really have no idea, but does that tank have a vent on top? If you're putting gas in, the displaced air has to go somewhere.

Something has gotten up into the canister vent hose and is blocking it.

Find the vent hose, it will be attached to the charcoal canister at one end and open at the other. Take it off, blow it out with a compressor, put it back on, and get on with life.
