Gas Mileage On Rangers Question

I just got 25mpg. with mine in my sig. and that was with original wires and plugs and my air filter was filthy. Next fill up should be even better cause i just tuned it up. BTW this was both city hwy driving bout 50 50

i ran outta gas the other day after a week and i got 410 miles exactly to a full tank. once i fill it back up to the feed neck ill get my mpg quote

Interested to know the capacity of your tank too...that might explain things if you've got a high capacity tank on the rig...

you suck man, 410 miles to a tank. im lucky to get 300 out of my 94 ranger 2.3 with 207k miles. I may need to get new plus, wires and fuel filter tho

i got a 94 2.3 with 191k miles, pretty much after i replaced my spark plugs and everything my mpg shot up to 28-32 mpg, but i have the dual coil version, k&n, exhaust, and a custom ram air. this is also with my 22"s on.

do you have the dual coil or DOHC?

I got 30mpg once with the hand of god giving my truck a gentle nudge. '93 2.3L 2WD manual, no AC, reg cab, short box, topper, 235's and 4.10's in the rear. Drive was 75mph @ ~2.5-3K.

Edit: I was driving south too, so technically there was a little bit of a decline, right? ;)

410 miles with a 17 gallon fuel tank (standard size ranger tank, 17 gallons) works out to be a little bit over 24 mpg

Actually, it would be an Incline....unless you live in south america! ;missingteeth;

(depending on the angle your looking at it of course)

My 93 Ranger has 3.73 gears and a 5 speed trans. Almost all my driving is highway. My Gas Mileage is between 30 and 32 MPG. Average speed is around 60 MPH.

No Idea on city mileage

27.5mpg on my first tank with the new '94 Ranger.
25mpg on my second (first was highway, second was mostly urban).

ive got an 01 ranger with 3.0 and im getting anywhere between 15 and 22 depending on how i drive, i have a 5 inch lift 31s with exhaust and intake but i have the manual 5speed so that helps and im geared 4.10s

my tank should be the stock 16.5 but ive squeezed almost 19 in it before.
usuall when i fuel up for long trips and the pump clicks i wait a minute or two and slowly pump gas till it comes outta the neck.
i have dual coil packs but i think ones not working good and a sohc with 200k miles almost

yea i have pretty much the same...aside from my custom intake and my exhaust, i usually only get 400 miles to a tank if i'm lucky

94 2.3, 5 speed, 3.45 (for now since my diff carrier is shot and I am looking to move to the 8.8"), 14" stock rims (sad, I know) with Firestone Winterforce snow tires I have gotten 22mpg the two times I actually figured my mpg out. The first time was a tank that I towed a Neon, lol.

Hey guys, ima throw my question in the mix. I got a 94 2.3 5 speed. Runnin 225's. I get anywhere from 18 to 25 with it depending on how i drive. i been thinkin bout leveling it out with some coils or spacers. Probably just 2 inches up front. if i were to do this and run 30's or 31's what mileage would i expect with a gear change? also, any thoughts on what gearing i would need to pop in there would be appreciated.
