Hello again lol been noticing my gauge is stuck just before half and I've driven 103 miles, do I have to get a new fuel pump or sending unit? And is the float something I replace w/o having to get a new pump or sending unit?

Like pulling teeth, :)

tested what with meter, and fine was..........OHMs? Volts?

So 1989 should show 16ohms empty and 158ohms full, these are approx.

If you have gas in the tank and rock the truck ohms should change as float moves up and down.

If that checks out then you will need to pull out the instrument cluster

Yeah...

And as far as parts replacement, my sender is shot as it goes to half tank at about 2/3 tank then back to full then down to empty fast... Went to rockatuo and the sender was $50 for everything minus fuel pump, $55 with pump and sock, that's a nobrainer... to replace it pull the bed (6 bolts in the bed, 3 for the filler neck, and a wire connector at the back of the drivers side frame rail for the tail lights) and that's the easiest way to do it...

The lowest it read on the meter was 18. High was about 180
