Is it the same size on both ends?

Im temporarily building a wooden flat bed for my 7ft range rso I can do some projects to the bed & also on the weekends I'll be removing flatbed to start installing rear cross members & Bronco II 23 gal tank.

Due to the design that im building the flatbed I need to have the longer section after the bend attached to the tank & vice / versa.

Currently my truck has been my daily driver,& that need to change also, so I need to get this flatbed finished TODAY so I will have it done for work on Tuesday.

Have a Suzuki Swift that has a wiring short going to the fuel pump & it gets twice the MPG as my 4cyl Ranger, when It was on the road last.

I don't really know I never looked at it that much... I guess just measure and make sure... Mine was in bad need of being replaced which I should do soon.

The same diameter? Yes. But the inner pipe will be a pain coming out. I was looking into why a siphon hose is so difficult to get in there for another member, so I took my old one apart. It was a PITA, so I eventually just cut the outer pipe out. Here's some pics if it helps.

My new hose:

Where did you get your new one from & how much was it & is that a band clamp on the smaller tube a crimp clamp or a screw type clamp. Im wondering why a person couldn't swap ends & trim the longer end.

After all its surrounded by the larger hose which must be just for the overflow at the filler neck to flow back into the tank.

I got it off of Ebay for 35 dollars shipped from this guy in the link. It was here in 2 days, but it was shipped from AZ to UT (might be a touch longer for you).

Car Parts Wholesale now has it for 30 dollars shipped though:

It's crimped on. I don't know what the reasoning is behind the extra 10 inches or so of pipe is on the tank end.

After all its surrounded by the larger hose which must be just for the overflow at the filler neck to flow back into the tank.

I may be wrong, but it appears that it also serves as a ventilation for the fuel tank, and it works in conjunction with the gas cap. I only got that from observation though - I could be wrong. I would bet someone who is a Ford Tech or a Safety/IM certified tech could verify my thoughts or not.

Maybe this ventilation system is also part of the reason for the extra pipe on the one end?
