Since September I've been using the mirrors on our new Ranger pickup to back into the garage. That works on occasionally when I get out of the truck, when the drivers door is wide open, the door touches the wall if I don't get the truck centered up just right.

Our Ranger is the first vehicle we own that has a back up Camera. I tend to hate technology, more shit to break.

Today I put a piece of Gorilla Tape down the center of the garage bay where I park the Ranger. Now I can get the truck in the same spot, every time. And I added another piece of tape at the back of the garage so I know when I'm back far enough.

Easy Peazy...

I find the mirrors easier to use than the back up camera. The only use I see for the thing is to line up the tongue of my trailer up with the ball in my hitch.

For the garage dilemma, since my garage is so small, I found it easier to hang a piece of para cord and use that as a gauge for when I'm where I need to be and still have room to close the garage door and get to the man door.

garage.jpg1.jpgA man's garage needs to be "Big"--These darn developer guys just don't understand this! Wife and I had to build our own, in Alaska--2001

Three doors, ten foot walls, and a 10-12 roof pitch, so I could install a "spiral staircase". for the upstairs loft. The garage I have now, is shameful.o_O

I agree. My garage is supposed to be a 2 car garage. Right. It barely has room for 2 smart cars. If I pull my standard cab short bed Ranger in, I can’t use the drill press or work bench along the back wall. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that mine is a workshop and the vehicles stay outside.

Now, your just killing me:drool: Sometime, I long for the "old" days, but then I remember all the upkeep/chores/snow removal--Then I come back to sanity!

Mine is a one car, barely. Being that the house was built in the 1960s and how big the cars were then, I can’t see how they would call the glorified shed that I have would fit a car of that era. They must have shoe horned the thing in there and exited via the garage door to close it.
