GAIA GPS Now Charging To Save Maps

I think I remember seeing someone create their routes in All Trails and then import the files to GAIA or OnX

I use Garmin Overlander. I understand you can download maps from various Apps to it, but I never learned how to do it. I create my own maps to follow. It also tracks my routes when on the trails so I can pull them up if I want to do it again. My self generated tracks are also saved.

I do most of the Backcountry Discovery Routes and either buy their paper map and trace the route onto my Garmin Overlander or go online and copy the route for free.

Maps are already on the Garmin Overlander and if there is a region that is not on there it is easy to download them from Garmin. The only issue I have run into is, It shows some trails that don't exits anymore and there are some new trails that it does not show. That is not very common though.

Some people that I travel with have had some issue with GAIA and OnX.

You can plug it into your computer and drag and drop the GPX files onto it. It works great for like a national/offroad park that is mapped or if you are travelling in a group and someone has the route preplanned.

I love mine, I wish they just had an app so I could do the same thing with my phone onto the dash of our newer vehicles.
