Looks like Gaia GPS is now requiring that you have a paid membership to be able to save the maps you create. It's $4.99 a month which seems crazy to me because onX Offroad is $2.92 a month and probably has more features.

Yeah. But when you travel with Jim and the Vagabonds, he really likes for everyone to use GAIA.;missingteeth;:icon_rofl::yahoo:

Jim's maps upload to OnX as well. I loaded it onto both before the trip. Only to find that OnX only works with my Android Auto on the infotainment system if you have the premium. So I ran Gaia for the trip. I haven't tried and save a map lately. I know there are several new apps out that work very similar to them.

Yeah. I was just teasing. I haven’t looked at OnX all year. I’ve really been trying to use and get familiar with GAIA. I was still learning new stuff in GAIA on the fall colors campout.

I can't remember if I even tried loading Jim's maps on OnX. OnX does seem to be easier to download offline maps but it may just be an illusion on my part.

I have Gaia on my phone for the Bronco and F-150 infotainment systems, I have heard from a friend that Jim's maps also upload on a Garmin Overlander GPS as well...

I think the GPX(?) file format is a standard and should work for most or all the major apps and devices. I think the additional files for waypoints and things are usually pretty standard also.

Yup.

Kansas Rocks is a thorn in my side, they use Cartotracks or something like that for the digital map. Yet another app and subscription, I can't find a GPX anywhere for the place.
