I have a 2007 FX4 LII 5spd. It recently and progressively has started clunking on accell and decell when in gear. I took to my Ford dealer where i just bought it and we had a look you can see where the tcase it hitting the tunnel as the "jello" transmount is not strong enough. They are going to contact engineering and see if they have this documented or not. I have found aftermarket mounts and they did agree to install for free if i buy them if ford has no answers. I just wanted to see if anyone else with a 5spd 4x4 has this issue. The truck is about 4 months old and has 26000 on it.

Thanks
Josh

Nope, never seen it on a newer Ranger. I have seen those mounts break on a F-150's.

Might also be worth mentioning to them about the TSB on the steel driveshafts. I think they should have stopped using the steel shafts, but if yours is steel they are known to 'thump' on accel and decel. They usually lube the slip joint with some moly grease.

Just an FYI

Is that tsb not the other way around. I thought i was the aluminum drive shaft that had issues? It is definatly the mounts not holding up. You can see where it hits the stop on the mount but it also hit the tunnel and has damaged the insulation. I will be curious to see what Ford engineering has to say. I do also agree on the f150 i have seen those fail aswell. My mount does not appear to be defective it is just to soft and jello like. Wonder if the put the wrong one in at the factory perhaps?

Thanks
Josh
