Went and picked this axle up out of a 2006 FX4 Level II with 8,xxx miles on it It has 4.10 gears
My truck came stock with 3.55 gears. Trying to turn those 31"tires was not easy for it

I saved roughly $549.00 by not having my axle regered. I was quoted $1000.00 from a shop

The install went fairly easy probbaly to easy for me. I was waiting for my axle to come out the back when we drove around the block.

I can definatly tell the diffrence when I take off and just going down the road.

Just have to remember monday after work to re check the u bolts and check my axle fluid again

Next weekend im swaping my stock blocks back in in place of the FX4 blocks didnt relize the size diffrence. When we were done I noticed the front lower than the back. I may be able to crank my t-bars some more.

Nice looking swap, I can't wait to get my 8.8 in (out of Exploder though)

Slightly OT, do the newer Ranger's have that goofy third shock/dampener thing like Explorer's? I notice on this one it has the bolt holes for it on the even though it was from a Ranger. If nothing else they must just use the same differential case for both vehicles I guess.

Makes me more and more glad to have the 4.10's from the factory. Nice save!

def. just crank the t-bars up to match, you're 2wd--so no need to worry about cv joint angles!
