If you have a front wheel drive transmission in a car, specifically a Focus, and the shifter gets sloppy, what is the most likely culprit? If you don't fix it soon, what potential damage can be done?

Stick shift or auto?

Stick shift you may have a bad bushing, or the syncros getting weak, automatic the linkage is pry coming loose.

later,
Dustin

The shift cables like to come out of the brackets at the trans. Push them back in and use some tie straps to secure.
