Ok new to the ranger and its quirks. 86' extended cab, 4x4, auto, electric transferr case auto hubs

I believe that it shifts OK, tranny was rebuilt.

when I start it and shift from park to reverse I get this noise like the speed-O cable is spinning or like a oversize hamster is on it wheel is probably a better discription. (no the speedo doesn't jump or anything unusual).

If I really floor it in "drive", I'll get a simular sound for abit, til rpm and speed climb. I can't really say that it always kicks down a gear when ramping up to speed or to pass.

The shifting selector moves fine, can feel every every/all gears
Most prominate from park to reverse...and when cold start a bit less on warmstarts and when going from drive to reverse.

is this normal for this pickup?

thanks

really.... no one has had this issue before?
well isn't That a real Goomer Pile moment....SURprize...SURprize...Surprize
