Funniest Repair Orders you've seen?

I used to work with my dad at a cabinet shop and we were always pulling jokes one this one guy (Dennis was his name)... I recall one time we sent him to the hardware store for a left handed hammer... Came back with out one and said they didn't have one... I can't remember why, but, for some reason, a cabinet that we built wasn't wide enough, so we sent him to find a "cabinet stretcher"... Strangely enough he brought us back a clamp and tried to use it... Every day it was something, this guy honestly knew nothing about wood working...

construction 5 years

you forgot the

sky hook
board stretcher
nail grease (for those nails that just wont go in :P )
level fluid/ bubble refill kit
the list goes on lol
i had this guy i worked with didnt last to long he got mad because we sent him on a board stretcher mission for... 6 hours came back threw a hammer at a window broke it so he got the boot still was funny

I told a guy at work he had a flat tire on his Forklift (Solid rubber tires). He walked around it 6 times.
later,
Dustin

I did that to a road worker with those new all rubber tires with the holes in them. He turned off his skidsteer, got out, and checked all of his tires. By the time he realized what had happened I had already walked away. I drove past him later that day heading home and I think he aimed his bucket towards me as he bump dumped a load of broken asphalt. :D

I should have told him to get out so I can show him how a REAL skidsteer operator launches debris. :icon_thumby:

never worked in shop but me and a buddy of mine was sittin in Wal-mart parking lot talking, and a hot chic pulled up by us in a silver ford focus, got out of her car with cell phone in hand talking to someone and checking out her car. So being curious we got out and walked over she said her cars making a loud clicking noise. We got to looking the passenger front caliper bolt had vibrated loose and was broke off and bent over from it hitting wheel spokes we sugested that she shouldn't drive anymore, But she insisted she was almost home.

oh i just had to chime in one more time, and share one where i was the butt of the joke. when i was 16 i got a job with an electrical contractor for residential and commercial. a week or two into it, while loading the vans up one morning they had me go look for a box of home runs. that one got a good laugh. fortunatly is was good natured breaking in the new guy, not messing with the idiot.

i do that at my work now!

Mine isn't that heavy, its a little New Holland LS160. But I can use those forks to do everything they were never made to do. Should have got the 190 though, the 160 is too small to do a full pallet (about a ton or so) but the maneuverability of the smaller equipment is worth it. When we bought it we still had the old forklift going so pallets weren't the issue, but now it needs a certain part that is no longer made, and would cost us a pretty penny to have custom machined.

only forklift ive ever drove was a nissan, used her for 1 summer, [i worked with my grandpas construction buisness a couple summers till he shut down] and he sold it cause she was too big of a peice of shit, i was the only one that used it though, mostly for loading concrete blocks on tractor trailers , she had a hard time lifting the blocks, then after he sold that he just told me to use the 980 and put the 'cutting edges' sticking off the bucket to use as forks. i love operating equipment

we had an old 1960-something towmotor forklift at the napa i worked at. they really arent hard to operate. we used it mainly for recieving our freight, but once a year we used it to load pallets of old batteries to ship out for recycling. it was able to handle most of the pallets OK, but if we got too many batteries on one pallet we'd have to have shawn (250+lbs) hang off the back to keep it from endoing and lifting the rear steer tires off the ground.

i did get to drive a cat 990 once when i was doing side jobs for the city of cordova...thats a bit of machine there.

Here is an another reason why not to take your vehicle to Wal-Mart for an oil change:

A Wal-Mart oil change reminder sticker found inside the engine, just under the oil cap

Now, you would think something was wrong with this:

Either the owner didn't care or was trying to rust protect his vehicle.

Stuffed animal abuse:

Come on. Even thou its a stuffed creature. It is really not nice to be choking it. Even baby Kremit eyes are popping out.

Now just because you put a piece of tape over it, doesn't mean it is fixed. Nor is just ignoring it will make it go away:

Just hope this owner doesn't need that ABS system.

when i was 17 my uncle told me if i could get his 87 S-10 blazer out of his yard i could keep it. he said it had electrical problems and he tried to get it started again but no luck. 5 years go by sitting in his yard not running. i pop the hood it has no cables but it had a battery. i bought a 10 dollar set of battery cables at K-mart and it fired right up. turns out he didnt think to check the connection for five years after some redneck stole the cables.

I had a (somewhat famous) customer with a 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo complain about a rattle in his truck. After digging around it for 2 hours the tech found a woman's ring (not his wife's) that he lost a month earlier against a bracket under the console somehow. He paid us and left embarrassed.

in the airforce we send new kids to the cop shack to get som kay 9 pee, hospitol to get there boots xrayed to make sure there steel toes, airfeild managment to get 15 feet of flightline, or the grocery store off base to get P E P S I lube and its even more awesome because all the morons that work at the store dont relize it either.
