I need one.

Is there any specific reason I should buy one from an auto parts store for $200?

I know that they have that little smaller hose on the inside of the larger hose, but is that necessary? Can I just get a similar hose like a radiator hose and attach it?

Any recommendations or advice?

dude $200???? Just get a regular hose yes like a radiator hose and cut it to length and throw on some clamps, the vent you an just buy a gas hose for like lawn mowers and stuff. I don't understand why it would be $200, all it is is a hose

Yes they are that much - especially dealer version.

The inner hose is the fill hose and the outer hose is the overfill return. Just using a straight hose will mean fuel all over your truck, your hands and your shoes. Plus the hose will be full thus negating the fuel vapor return system since the fuel will be ABOVE the pump, return lines, etc . . .

I had the same problem, bought a new one from e-bay and now it is cracked again - these hoses suck, but I suppose I will have to get another.
Do not go to the Junk Yards as they will cut them when removing a bed or they are in the same condition - cracked.

Make sure you get the one for your style cab - I was told an extended cab hose is different than a regular cab.

Also - the two ends of the hose are different sizes - the one at the filler is smaller than the one on the tank.

And one more note - a normal hose will get pinched between the bed and frame rail - the factory hose is designed to flatten yet allow flow.

i just got a parts truck, would be willing to ship it. i know this isnt the place for selling, but it would save you a few$$$

oh damn, guess I was wrong lol sorry. When I did my bl and put the extension on it seamed like an ordinary hose

Now that is what TRS is all about . . . you are ok to suggest here - just work out your details by PM or E-mail . . .

OP good luck

normal coolant hose and such doesn't stand up to gas, you'd be surprised...
