Fuel tank dilemma

My fuel tank is cracked and no one makes a replacement. It won't pass smog if it doesn't hold pressure. Before somebody jumps on the filler hose I've already replaced it. I got 3 other tanks and also cracked, it seems to Crack right above the the filler hose tube. Pretty sure it's from the frame and bed flexing pulling on the filler hose and the tank. I did a temporary fix with rtv silicone and worked for about a year. Filled up a couple days ago and it's leaking again. Anyone know if 98 plus tanks swap in? Anyone else had this problem? And I want to do a fuel cell but not carb legal for a smog.

No won't fit and yes, no one makes them new any more.

Google: fixing cracked plastic gas tanks

RTV is temp fix but you can fix it permanently

Also google: plastic gas tank welding

Hi, not sure if this helps or not, however, on the radio I am hearing ads from a body repair shop that is boasting plastic welding for body 1/4s. try calling body shops around you to see if they can give you any leads on plastic welding. Worth a shot....

If you live near me i have a plastic tank that you can have.... free
