So last weekend, I decided to do some 360's one the highway, just for kicks.
No, actually, the highway was nothing but slush, I skipped over an expansion joint, fishtailed and ended up in the ditch. Nobody was hurt, and more importantly, neither was the truck. Well, to a certain extent. Bumper damage mostly, and the front tire came off.
Anyways, driving home, I noticed I've been less than average fuel mileage. Perhaps it's due to the alignment that's completely off, or because of the odd matched 4th tire (my spare).
It also crossed my mind if I should look into the fuel shut off mechanism. The truck was at quite the angle in the ditch, and I remember reading that in cases like that, the fuel shut off valve might need to be reset.
The truck is going in to the shop this week. So we'll see if the alignment fixes the poor mileage. But is it possible that the shut off valve would hamper fuel mileage?
