My guage ALWAYS reads a 1/4 tank to below the "E".
Now I've been hearing talk about "Techroline" and how it fixes this:
Hmm, is this true? Or typical propaganda?

I've posted a while back about my problem of obtaining a replacement unit, Ford only has them for the diesels, and there is litterally NO replacement parts available!
So my Uncle had the old gas tank out of his truck, and I used his sender, it worked....for THREE DAYS!
So I was told to check LMC Truck, and what they had for for fuel injected 1st gens, and ext cabs.
J.C. Whitney has a Universal kit:

It looks like my ONLY option, do you think I could wire it into the OEM fuel guage and it would work ok?

Fuel has sulfer compounds which effect the readings on your fuel sending unit hidden in your gas tank.
It is an additive called Techroline! It is available at your automotive supply store. It is available in 2 different size containers. You just add it to your gas tank at the time of fill-up at least once a month. I was able to fix this problem on a vehicle that was 2 years old with 50,000 miles on it. I saved alot of money by doing this. I was getting a poor fuel level indication each time I filled up and thought I was in for a large repair bill. Techroline is an additive in the fuel at Chevron. I found it at the automotive store and have been using it every month. Put a bottle into your tank at each fillup until you see results. Then, once a month for preventative maintenance. This has solved the problem and I haven't had a reoccurance since last summer. This additive is also good for keeping your fuel system clean as well.
