I have been on the search for a fuel rail for a 1987 ranger 2.9Litre engine. It has eluded me so for. Does anybody here know where i can purchase one and why are these parts so scarce. Ford made a blue million of these vehicles and it seems they are disappearing fast. I believe the part number is

Probably junk yard. Or try carparts.com

Car-part.com doesn’t have one listed, not even a category for it.
As Eric says, a junkyard might be your best bet, but I’d call around first to see if they have a 2.9 on the lot.

Good Luck!

I ask alot of ebayers, as i seen alot of ranger parts for sale on the site but no go. Figure it was only made a couple years and obsolete soon after. Cant even find a obsolete PN. Still looking

I may have one sitting on the shelf in the barn. I believe it’s off a 91 ranger 2.9. I don’t know if they are different but I’ll check it with your photo after work. I’ll hit you back if it looks the same.

You can also post in the “Wanted” section of auto parts waaay down at the bottom of the main menu.

Thanks tw205, ill await your reply. Figured a 2.9 are all the same. That's why i was puzzled when there were not a dozen on fleabay. I wonder if i can get it off with out taking off the upper plenum? Dirty

Here’s what I have on the shelf. It was on a 2.9 from a ranger. The fuel connections are different than the Bronco II so I used my old one. This has just been collecting dust on the shelf. If you want it, $10 plus shipping. Let me know and I’ll box it up.
I don’t think it is removable without taking the upper plenum off. Plenum has rubber gaskets so they seal back up nicely.

The FPR didn't have any leaks and no visible sighs of rust like the injectors. Finding fine rust in the fuel rail you would think it would be in the regulator to. Its a Standard motor product PN 8559C. Any issues with these? Not the most expensive FPR but seemed to be functioning. DELPHI FP10507 seems to be the best, but its don't come tested. Any advise on a sure way to test these, hand vacuum pump work ok? Dirty

Completed fuel rail and injectors. All Ohmed out to 15.2-15.4. Got spares now thanks to @tw205!!. The main harness has three wires, 1. Common(BLK), 2. 1 2 4 injector(Red) 3. 3 5 6 injector(Red/BLK stripe), fires one bank then the other. Had to can two wiring harnesses to make one. Junk yard Ebayers are a tough crowd. Got a FPR coming from rock auto.

Found injectors on ebay item number 373764233976marked as E67E-B1B 280150710) 4.75 bucks each, to good...?. Mine are E67E-A1B 0280150229. Will they work. Looks close. ?? Has a extra slot on top. Marked 055.

Finally got it running on all 8. Fine Rust had mitigated its way from the fuel cell to the injectors. Replaced tank, both pumps, filters, FPR. rebuilt injectors. It sits alot and i guess it just started rusting from the inside. Thanks for all your help!
