I ended up buying a new pump and filter from AutoZone and changing it out in the parking lot at Walmart.

What a nightmare! I guess the pump started working for a little while and then quit again. I've got to drive far to work tomorrow so I hope to god it's not a wiring issue.

I think I would change the fp relay also as added insurance. They are fairly cheap, and do fail from time to time. I would probably also carry a jumper for the inertia switch. shady

Could very easily be a wiring issue. Did you change the entire pump assembly or just the pump and screen?

Thanks for the responses guys!

Everything seems well now! I changed out the fuel pump last night and left at 5:30am this morning to work. Just got back a little while ago and made frequent stops during the 225 mile trek without incident.

I guess the old pump was having an intermittent issue as now everything's good. The wiring visually appears to be in excellent shape and there's current to the pump when the ignition switch is turned on so I'm pretty positive I nailed it! Thanks again guys.

Sorry Dave, I changed out the pump and screen only. They did'nt have the whole assembly in stock.
