I'm having an issue with my Ranger. I work 6:00am. and when I go out to start my fuel pump has been shut off by the sensor. When I hit the reset switch it doesn't fix it. But once the day warms up. I can hit the button to reset the pump and it'll start up. Anybody know what sensor causes this and where it is. I'm hoping it's just as simple as the reset switch on the floor is bad.

I've had this problem before. I found that giving the switch a tap and then turning the key it would catch and run then I'd hit the reset and off I'd go. It eventually boiled down to a leaking injector that I replaced and haven't had a problem since.

I guess it could be that, but how would that explain it only happening when it's cold outside and the switch not working, but once it warms up it runs no problem?

Jumper the switch till you can get it replaced. Remove the jumper when the truck warms up.:)shady

Update on this,

I went out to my truck about a week ago, and my truck wouldn't start as usual. I got so fed up I grabbed my tire iron that was sitting on the seat next to me and beat the s#%@ out of the little box. I then hit the reset button and tried to start my truck. It started and has continued to start with no problems since then.

And to think when I was a kid my mom said, "Violence doesn't solve anything"

NICE!

If all else fails, get a BFH!

Glad you got it working.
