So I have a little dilema. My fuel pump quit no noise when turning the key and no fuel. Changed the filter and while I had it disconnected I turned the key to see if I got anything on the pressure side and NONE. So my question is: do I drop the tank or pull the bed? I have jackstands and a creeper but no lift but I have strong friends. So gents and ladies which would you reccomend to be easier?:icon_confused:

before we get a hold of ourselves check easy stuff like the fuse that protects it or that shutoff switch.

also if eveything else checks out fine, then turn the key forwards and go under and tap the tank a few times with a stick or something. if it works then you know its a fuel filter but when you take it out make sure their is not much debris in the tank.

Depends on how much fuel is left in the tank. Most people I know pull the bed, only a few bolts and you don't have to borrow a chinese kid to help you reconnect everything once you put it all back together.

lol @ chineese kid. I live in south mississippi and I think all of the Asians live in one ouse and own the 3 resturants in town. I have already checked the fuses and the shut off switch. The truck will sometimes run and you can hear the pump buzz when started other times I get nothing.

I vote pull the bed, even tho every one of my bolts broke taking them off, i still think it was easier then dealing with broken tank strap bolts or broken strap themselves
