Hey ! Watch this.....
Hi all, while changing the fuel pump on 2008 Ranger XL Xtra cab 4x4 4.0l, of course one of the clips broke. It is the yellow one on 90 elbow that is the larger diamater fitting on top of the fuel pump that goes to the Evap system. All I did was touch it and it disentergrated:unsure:
Does anyone know how to get the clip, or elbow. Dorman makes a kit, but I am not sure it comes with the size I need.I tried a clip assortment from Amazon but no luck. The pink clips it came with seem to be similar but too thin and the break when yoiu put them in the fitting. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I need to get this truck running before the rotors rust!
Thanks. Could upload a pic if anyone needs it to help solve this.

A pic would definitely help. If it's what I think it is. I've heard good things about putting a zip tied of the right width thru that connector to hold it on.

Search online for Dorman fittings. They sell them individually. It's a bit tricky to push the connector on... their tool sure helps.

I can visualize a zip tie on the right fitting.

I've seen some Help centers have the retaining clips sold in a pack of two or three.

Thanks for the quick response.

Hope this works! Here is what it looks like.

Thanks for your reply. I just don't know what spesific size and type of clip to ask for or how to order it. I would get the Dorman kit if I was sure it had the right size with the right clip so it will hold tight. I have seen some vids where they substitute a chalk gun and flare tool in place of the doorman tool. Seems to work pretty good. I am hoping not to spend days driving to every parts store and combing throug the HELP! rack. If that's what it takes, that's what I'll do. Zip tie idea sounds promising.

The caulk gun and flare clamp does work.

I bought the kit and there are many fittings in there. Most I'll likely never use. But until you can say what you need... its all a crap shoot.
