Fuel pump issue

So i have a 94 ranger xlt 3.0 v6 recently ill start it up drive 30 or so miles go into somewhere come out and try to start it and the fuel pump wont engage so i unplug the battery for a few minutes and plug it back then it starts up fine what could be my issue

check fp relay and wiring paying attention to any connections contacts etc... also check fuel pressure and fuel pressure regulator. of course this is for starters... there are many posts on forum on how to check above items so search search search :D:D:D and have a drink:beer::beer::beer: or 3:icon_rofl:
 
ill say check the grounds. i was out 4x4ing early this year. hit a bump pretty hard, the battery bounced and the ground at the battery came undone. my guages would work but the fuel pump wouldnt prime. it would crank but wouldnt fire up
