In the past I've noticed maybe ONE new (temporary license plate) ranger about every six weeks or so. I saw SEVEN new rangers on the road this week alone, and I've noticed the stealerships have them out front on the front row or the lawn all cleaned up instead of hiding them in the back. Anyone else notice this? The gas price may be the saving force in the future of the Ranger...

The local stealership moved their rousch mustangs back and have focuses in the front driveway now as well. A sign of the times.

Ranger sales were up 16% for March, and Ive noticed alot mre new ones on the road latley too, most of them being fleet trucks.

Im pretty sure its because of gas prices.

i saw 5 ford fesieva's driving around town last monday. i hardly EVER see those things these days.

our rangers are still on the back of the lot where they have always been. and the roush stage 3's and the new p-51's are still right in front of the showroom :dntknw:

this might happen every year, but I've been noticing alot of people out on motorcycles when its still 40 some degrees at 7am...crazies I call them. I think gas would have to hit 5 or 6 dollars before I'd ride my bike at 40 degrees.

shhh, (dude, shut-up...). :fie:

My dad has riden his motorcycle to work for a couple months now. He'll drive if it is really cold (has a 45 mile commute). But like he said, if he rides to work 4 days a week instead of driving (Suzuki XL-7, 21mpg vs KLR650 50mpg) he is paying for the motorcycle with the gas savings. And, when the motocycle is paid off, he has a motorcycle to show for his money, not a bunch of useless gas fumes..
I'm going to start riding his old KLR 250 as soon as school's out for the summer and I can go get my endorsment (250 80mpg, Range 14mpg hmmm).

But anyway, yeah, it seems like I have seen alot more new Rangers too. At the local dealership, last time I looked they still had all the Mustangs and F-150's out front. People are defentally starting to make more "fuel efficient" car choices, that's for sure.

I'll pass the local Ford dealership on my way to the shop today. I'll have to take a look and see what they are doing with there ranger stock....

I can't tell yet. Dealerships are still recoverying from the hail stone damages. The Ford lot is completely empty.

Theres nothing wrong with riding a motorcycle in 40*F weather. I was doing that last winter, even if the temps were 20*F's. Just gotta be careful of icing on the road ways.

well i sure can't see any more rangers being sold around me. i can't find any on the lots aound my area. and i mean none. i seen one on the lot where i bought mine but it must have been an order cuzz it was gone two days later. mine was special orderd in november and i didn't rcieve it until feb. i was just in the dealer as a matter of fact and was talking to my sales man and he even said they have only sold maybe 4 this whole year from that lot. :fie:

Didn't see much of a Ranger stock at the local dealership. I haven't really seen too many new Rangers rolling around either.... saw a lot of Escapes though. The bottom of the Truck market has really fallen out and it's getting hard to even sell them.... yes, even Rangers. The used truck market has been doing a lot better compared to new sales.... Ironically, I bought mine used. So, I don't know. Come 2009 looks like the Ranger is done for good.... looks like we will be becoming collectors.

Even the rangers on used car lots are going like hot cakes around the Tulsa area. I just bought a 2000 model to save on gas.

When I bought my 2008 Ranger (4 Cylinder) last month all the dealer kept saying is that most of their customers were shopping for gas mileage. Saw a 2008 focus 4 door being sold. I just drove 257.3 miles on a fishing trip on 9.1gallons of regular for 28.2 mpg. I am pretty happy with this performance. On the trip out my truck was full of food and coolers for 17 men for 5 days so I averaged 25.6 mpg.
I presently have a tonneau cover on the bed which I am sure helped some.

I sold my 1993 Ranger Splash that I had for 15 years :( But am getting a new one :) It sold in 1 day and I had about 20 calls. A lot of individual contractors looking to downsize.

.... Still driving my 1987 "The Brick" Ford Ranger.

I'm wondering is anyone going to release a new compact pickup truck? Ya Rangers are fine, but it would be nice to have some competition.:annoyed:
