Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on an 01 Ranger 4.0L SOHC 4X4?
Also does anybody have any pics of the location?
Thanks

FPR for the 01 is in the tank - not uncomon for the hose connecting it to leak and cause fueling problems.

Soooo, Is there a way to test for a bad hose without dropping the tank?

I'm not sure on testing it for your problem, but if you do have to get inside the fuel tank, I've found it's MUCH faster and easier to unbolt and remove the bed than to drop the tank.

if you do remove the bed buy to torx 55, you will need a breaker bar or a pipe for the ratchet, ford wanted $16 per bolt . I ordered regular hex bolts online for $3 each

What if I just cut an access hole in the bed floor and weld the piece back in? :icon_confused:

Don't cut a hole in the bed. Once you have the bed bolts out, just unhook the harness to the taillights and remove the few bolts holding the filler neck on. Two guys can lift it off easily, three guys makes it really easy. Set it down on a few sawhorses or some crates/boxes, even some cinder blocks. It's really only a 10-15 minute job to pull the bed off.
