Have a girl suck on it for optimum test results:D. Rev it up with the line unhooked and it should bog, then with it reved suck on it and it should smooth out according to your er um sucking abilities.

where is this info coming from??

The fuel pressure regulator uses vacuum to reduce fuel. at idle, there's more vacuum on the FPR, so it reduces fuel pressure slightly. under full throttle, vacuum drops and fuel pressure increases since the needed for fuel increases.

This question is much more suited to an engine forum rather than the B2/Explorer specific forum.

Lol thanks Kunar and sorry OP. Its kinda funny my friend had an ancient car with vacuum windshield wipers and forget about going up hill with them on.

Best way to check is with a fuel pressure gauge to determine if it's working correctly. If it's running OK, and no fuel is leaking through to the vacuum line, sounds like it working fine.
