Fuel Pressure Problems ?????

92 4.0 EFI

When under light acceleration my Ranger acts like it's running out of gas. If I step on it everything smooths out. If I am cruising while not accelerating everything is fine. I have already changed the filter. what is next fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator or ???????
I appericate any help.

I've seen EGR problems act like that.
Feels like trailer hitch is loose, pulling a trailer.
Also describe it as though you are pressing and releasing the gas pedal, but it happens faster than humanly possible to recreate with your foot.

If yours has EGR, take the vacuum line off the EGR valve and drive it. If it quits, suspect the EGR feedback sensor, I'm not sure what they call it for your year, might be PFE.
