Fuel Pressure 2.3

Alright checked fuel pressure and its at 32 at idle jumps to 40 when you give gas.This is suposse to be within specs. However I am never happy so your thoughts please.

I have changed plugs,wires,coil packs, timing belt, and tenisior,cleaned a lot of stuff. now has a empty cat and a Flowmaster delta 40, new gaskets on intake manifold and exhaust and throttle body, just replace the water pump.The only other change in last 6 months is 3 body lift and bigger tires went from 14 to 15.

Truck doesn't seem to have power it did before the lift, It hesates when start out and it will not pull a hill 60 at 3500 rpm's in 4th best I can do ( this is on a 7% hill 2 miles up).

Could be old and a 4 cyl. 1996 2.3 5SPD with a 130,000.

putting on bigger tires changed the effective gear ratio, and now you are going faster than your speedometer says...

not to mention running with a gutted cat on a '96 aside from being illegal and pointless unless it was plugged, will represent issues of it's own since it has a post cat oxygen sensor...

I don't know if this is true.. but I heard you could splice the post cat lume in with the pre cat loom and be good ?

won't work... it's using the two sensors to see if there is a difference from before and after the cat.

Unplug that o2 and replace VSS runs better.I am considering a 8.8 swap.
