anyone know what the difference is (if there is one) in the fuel injectors from a 98 explorer 5.0L and injectors from a '00 explorer 5.0L other than the plug ? i ran into a little snag with my 2000 explorer 5.0L conversion, the fully dressed engine is from a 98 and it has different injectors than the ones that my injector harness wants to plug into, the easy way out is to "change" the injector plugs themselves, that is unless the injectors are of different impedances or voltage or whatever. the ones i have are orange so i believe they are 19lb the only reason i even care to keep those injectors is they are basically brand new and this project is already WAY over budget

The rating on the injectors on the 2000 should be 17#, kind of an off white-ivory color. They do make short adapter wiring harness pigtails to adapter one to the other. I happen to have a new set of the ones for a 2000 (I believe).

thanks dave, so i shouldnt have any problems just using the 19lb injectors from the '98 ? the injector plugs use the same wiring colors for both the 98 and the '00 so i figured i would just graft the 98 plugs into my 00 harness.

id be interested in your 17# injectors if you want to sell them,
