Lately, my fuel gauge has been a little strange. I'll start up my truck and it'll read full, sometimes ill start it and it'll read probably whats in the tank... drive around and it'll go to full, or go from full to whats probably in the tank...

any ideas? I dont even know where to start...

Thanks!

Gary~

did you happen to over fill the tank at some point?

yeah, i could have... when the pump shuts off i usually click it back on again on the slowest setting, then when that clicks off i go up to the nearest $.25

ive done this with every vehicle i have ever had... (which is ALOT!)

Mine reads normal when I fill it up and down to about 1/2 tank then it goes to empty. For the last several years I just reset the trip miles to zero when I fill it up and refill it when the trip milage reads 250. I can see a dent in the bottom of the tank just about where the sedning unit is located. I think this is what causes the problem.
