Hi all I have a '92 Ranger with a 2.3 4 banger and the fuel and temp gauges are'nt working right. With the key off they both come up about a 1/4 of the way and with the key on they both go dead, almost like a polarity problem or something. Can anyone help me with this it's driving me nuts! :icon_surprised:

Thanks,
Decster1

If you smack the dash, does the problem go away?

You probably will need new gauges. When there's no power running to them they should be maintaining their last position, at least those two (Voltage and Oil Pressure do not). Take off the dash panel, take off the 6 small screws that hold the plastic lens for the gauges, and pop out the unit(s).

Thanks Loco I give it a try and OilPatch I've smacked the dash several times... LOL.
