Fuel gauge off?

2000 Ranger XLT 2.5 MT

I'm not sure if my gas gauge is faulty or not. I have the battery disconnected , fuel pump assembly out and I've drained the tank of bad gas. This is what it's giving me with everything I listed.

What do y'all think?

With key off, or in this case battery disconnected, the fuel gauge can sit any where from 1/8 to 1/2, you probably never noticed that before.
If you turn on the power it will go passed FULL if sender in tank is disconnected, high OHMs
If you connect sender and float is down then it will show EMPTY, low OHMs
1989 and up Ford senders have 16 ohms at empty, and 160 ohms at full, approx.

And just FYI, the gauge has a DELAY circuit, anti-slosh module, so if you manually move the float the gauge won't respond instantly.
This prevents needle from swinging up and down when you drive around corners and gasoline sloshes around in the tank causing float to go up and down

I like the idea of the anti slosh module.

But since I replaced the whole fuel pump assembly, when I fill the tank the fuel gauge reads about 1/8 below full.

How can I fix that?
