Had to replace the filler neck. Briefly compared side by side and they looked the same, but I didn't measure anything. Just got it installed, and it's like the new neck is too long. That's a hard crease. Has anyone else run into this? 97 XLT

I can’t see the connection points. Can you get a hose cutter and shorten the hose?

There are a few different plier type hose cutters out there that would give you an even cut for no leaks.

Unfortunately not, it's a 1-piece design. I dunno what could be done about this, besides trying another 1.

I see a hose clamp at the filler. That might be your avenue for work trimming and fitting. Assuming the picture is a true representation.

I think you might have gotten the 7' bed version... the marketing on those things sucks, whatever I ordered was like 2" too short which I found out after I pulled the bed... which was several months after I ordered the hose so I was screwed... it'll probably fit on the '90 so I'll keep it around.

Unfortunately it isn't going to fill very well like that.

So there's more than 1 version? Nice... well that'd explain it, but that's great info, thanks. Yeah I bought this a while back too, already chucked any packaging, so im stuck with it.
From what I recall while it was outta the car, I don't think it could be cut, but I'm gonna have to check it

I'll be damned, sure enough

Yeah, there's 3 different beds in that year so there's 3 different hoses at least unless different tank sizes have different hoses since there's at least 2 different fuel tanks in that year I think...
