Fuel economy with canopy

I'm debating putting on a canopy, obviously for storage but also for fuel economy. I've heard and my common sense tells me that a canopy would make it more aerodynamic for highway driving.

So what kind of MPG are people getting with a canopy? Without one, I'm getting about 25 MPG on the highway with my 2.3L 5-speed 2WD, typically cruising around 70 MPH. Would I be able to improve on that with a canopy?

I have a canopy on my pickup. I can't really tell if it has affected gas mileage yet. I know the cold weather doesn't help it. I also haven't done up all my receipts yet to see how I am doing.

I have a 96. 2.3 5-spd 181,000 miles with a cap and in the summer I get close to 28 winter in cleveland its more like 22 mpg.

i didnt notice any improvement while i had the topper on my truck....i have a feeling the 200~lb fiberglass canopy offsets the aerodynamic improvement...an aluminum one may have a different outcome.
