Looking for a good quality fuel filler hose for an 89 ford ranger xlt, 2.9 L, 6 cylinder, 84 inch bed. We put on a hose that kinked. Looking for a good value that doesn't break the bank. This is my teenagers first vehicle and is looking to pass smog here in ole California.

Honestly, it's probably going to be easier and cheaper to just move out of California.

Better for your health too. Everything causes cancer there.

EBay my friend! Find guys parting out vehicles that the part will fit yours and ASK if they have a good filler hose. Ask 10 or so and you will find what you need.

Is the evap hose inside the fill hose on that year? If not then the hose kinking will not prevent you from passing smog. You need to make sure the evap hose is not rotted or cracked in any way. Also I would suggest getting a new gas cap as the evap machine will also test the seal on the cap. $10 to make sure you pass is money well spent.

Where do you live in California. I might be able to help you with this or a good smog shop to go to.

Also here is some options.

I've heard they finally discovered that laboratory studies cause cancer in lab rats.

I can believe that's true if the studies are done in California.

I"ll Second that motion. Search "1989 ranger fuel filler hose" on ebay- new aftermarket assemblies starting at $36 w/free shipping. Some with caps, too.

oops. the $36 is for the 6 ft bed application. the 7 ft bed hoses start around $56.
