Well you guys...heres the scoop on my 2.3 L fuel delivery issue. On the 1985- ?? Ranger / Bronco 2 they had this fancy high pressure, two pump fuel system with a canister type fuel filter mounted on the frame rail. Inside the filter canister assembly there are two check valves to prevent backflow into the tank, when these check valves fail all kinds of strange stuff happens, one being the engine cuts out, runs rough, coughs spits burps and hiccups. I replaced the filter ASSEMBLY (not just the filter element) and the old girl is pluggin away like new. So far so good, yesterday it was hotter than the hubs of hell out here and the truck held up fine in all driving conditions. Thanks to the couple of people who chimed in and offered advice. Now if I can just figure out my alternator swap problem I'd quit buggin you guys. Thanks again.
